A good HO car to scratch build...

...was this cable carrying car I discovered parked on a siding at Lansdown Junction (NJ) on the Lehigh Line. It is used by Michels Mid America, a company based in Wisconsin. They use it when laying cable along the right-of-way. From what I saw, it seems to be fairly easy to build and would make for an interesting addition for any HO train layout. Here are a few views of this car.
