Status report on the Route 206 bridge construction...

Another phase in the construction of a new Route 206 (MP 50) overpass in Belle Mead (NJ) spanning CSX's Trenton Line was completed. This phase was hoisting and placing steel girders that will be the foundation for Route 206. It was an operation that started on Friday morning and completed on Saturday morning. The first image shows the former Reading Belle Mead station and the old Route 206 bridge. Built in 1918 this bridge is estimated to carry 19,400 vehicles daily. The second image shows CSX's Q300 passing beneath the new span. Motive power on this day was CSX 8553 and CSX 8745.
