This Saturday, May 12, is National Train Day which marks the 143rd anniversary of the creation of the nation's first transcontinental railroad. There will be local events around the country and Amtrak will host major events in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles. The New York event will be at Grand Central Terminal (not Penn Station) and will feature the Amtrak 40th Anniversary Exhibit Train along with several private railcars.
