Received the following from Kermit Geary, Jr. Text and photos are his.
Greetings all: Last year I posted some photos of a bottle train that operates in the Chicago area. Today I came across an operation that occurs every day, and every hour or two!!! The Delray Connecting Railroad operates a torpedo train from the USS works at Zug Island to the Great Lakes Steel Div about 5 miles south at Ecourse, MI. They use the trackage of the Conrail Shared Assets and the ex-GTW (now CN) trackage. At least three public grade crossings are available to photograph from. These two locomotives were shuttling back and forth today...an SW-1500 and a Peoria Loco Works rebuild.
