The TRI-STATE RAILWAY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, INC. Presents Donald Burt at
the
Bickford Theater - Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road,
Morristown, NJ 07960
Thursday, September 12, 2013, 7:00 PM
It's
back-to-school for Tri-Staters, and the September 12th meeting will begin
Tri-State's 50th anniversary year with a presentation by Board member and
Santa Train chairman Donald Burt titled: "A Railfan's Winter: How to Make
Lemonade in the Grand Canyon State."
Last year Don Burt spent the warm
winter months in Arizona, which allowed him to witness and capture busy main
line action on Union Pacific while visiting short lines and tourist roads
such as the Verde Canyon. The year 2012 was the Centennial for Arizona as our
48th State, and part of the celebration was a visit by Union Pacific's famed
80-inch drivered 4-8-4 No. 844 on the former-Southern Pacific main lines
through Phoenix.
Meetings are held at the Morris Museum's Bickford
Theater at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.,
meeting at 7:30, entertainment about 8:00 p.m. Admission is free, all are
welcome. For updates see our website at www.tristaterail.org, or visit
