Received some intel from a good friend (and fellow ARHS director) that the Maryland & Delaware would be operating the once-a-year train ride for the Hurlock, MD festival. Started making plans to head down there, amidst the forecasts of heavy rain and clouds for Saturday (10-4-14). After watching the radar for a while, I was convinced that it should clear out for some photos.
Called and convinced my good friend, James Benetsky, to go down. We set off on Saturday morning driving through belts of heavy rain. We arrived at Hurlock, MD just as the last clouds pulled away and left us with brilliant sunshine and not a cloud around! As Tom Nemeth would exclaim....100% CIF.
They ran five trips between Hurlock and Federalsburg, MD which were sold out. The cars are owned by the Town of Hurlock and the train was staffed by the able folks at the Wilmington Chapter, NRHS.
A BIG thank you to all who made this trip possible and providing an enjoyable time for all!
