Subject: Newark Penn Solari Board
To all:
NJ TRANSIT is replacing the Solari big board at Newark
Penn Station and will be disposing of the existing flap style board that is
currently in place (although obviously not original to the station). While the
unit cannot be removed in one piece, if any parties would like to receive any of
the station name flaps for preservation or display we will be happy to work with
you to arrange for such disposition of pieces of the old board. Please note,
however, NJ TRANSIT is unable to provide transport of these items. If you have
any interest please let me know and I will arrange for you to meet with someone
from our information technology staff. Also – if you know of other
organizations that might wish to receive this notification, feel free to pass

Note: This Solari board is a split-flap display used to show train arrivals and departures. It is named after the manufacturer, Solari di Udine from Udine , Italy.
