One of my favorite locations along NS's LEHL is the S-curve at Stanton
Station (NJ). It is just west of MP 53, adjacent to the Stanton Station Road
grade crossing and affords a good photo location for afternoon eastbound trains.
Sunday proved to be good despite gray skies. First train worth mentioning was NS
66Z (Chicago, IL to Linden, NJ). It had two "showroom clean" SD70ACes, NS1163
and NS 1140, as its motive consist. They had served as the power for an empty
oil train 67Z that went west on Friday (February 6th) over the LEHL. The second
catch was NS's Go Rail 6963 teamed with NS 9083 to serve as the power consist
for 18N (Fostoria, OH to Doremus, NJ). It was worth the wait for these two
images...
